Job Summary:

The lead electrical technician shall be responsible for management and day to day running of all elements of the reactive and planned maintenance for all electrical equipment on the contract.

This shall include but not limited to the MV transformers, MV switchgear, generators, electrical distribution boards, general services, small power, lighting, lighting control, emergency lighting, containment, fire alarm, security systems, protective services etc.

The position involves the line management of electrical technicians on the contract. This shall include but shall not be limited to the management of the technicians time, workload, performance, punctuality, personal development and training.

Skills Required:

Must have at least a Fetac Level 6, QQI, City and Guilds or equivalent trade qualification

At least 10 years experience working with electrical systems in an installation or maintenance capacity
Fully competent in the use of computers with the ability to create and use spreadsheets
Working knowledge of mechanical, HVAC and building fabric systems

Familiarity with Maximo computer based facilities management package an advantage
Experience leading a team will be considered a distinct advantage

Main Duties

The management of the on site team of electrical technicians

The delivery of all planned maintenance of electrical equipment in line with the contract requirements

The identification and allocation of self perform maintenance tasks to electrical technicians on the contract through the CMMS system

The management of third party maintenance contracts through the CMMS system including regular contract reviews

The implementation of reactive maintenance as required through the on site team of electrical technicians

The monitoring of the Client’s on-line ticketing system and the allocation of work orders to the technical team in order to resolve the tickets

Devise preventative measures to avoid equipment breakdown and maintain business continuity

The establishment and management of the annual electrical maintenance budget

Creation and maintenance of asset lists and historic records

The research and development of costed proposals to improve the performance of the electrical systems

The reviewing of third party risk assessments and methods statements and the awarding of permits through the on line permitting system

Management of on site minor works projects

Attendances where require to assist project teams on large scale refurbishments, fit outs or new builds associated with contract
